We move on to week two in January, love 1000 new house tunes released (that I found). For me, there were two distinct types that dominated the new house releases. The first is cool jazz soul tracks and the other set was harder almost tech house tracks. There were also a lot of chill-out tracks too.

Number 1 is Dream Extended Mix by Leonard, George Heyden. What if this is all a dream, it’s a little eerie, bouncy house trance track with a slight 2004 commercial trance feel to it. Number 2 is Trumpz Extended Mix by Damien N-Drix, Wave Wave. As you’ll guess from the track, Trumpz has a jazzy sound. It’s driving and of course, those breakdowns are trumpet laced. Number 3 is Everybody Be Somebody Extended Mix by Hawk, Jude & Frank, Kiras. Using the classic vocal from Ruffnecks 90s hit of the same name. It’s quite similar. It keeps going and going before a familiar drop to silence and then the vocal hits back in. Nice track for nostalgic ears and new ears. This is a Dance / Electro Pop track at 125 BPM, in E Minor. Number 4 is Te Marchar Extended Mix by Karma Child. Another trumpet jazz fused track, with a strong Latin male vocal and a very summer feel. It’s early in the year for a summer tune, expect to hear this once as the weather warms and we start seeing outdoor parties. Bring on the summer vibes.. Number 5 is Hallucinate Extended Mix by Reinn. This may say electric pop on the cover but it could be a slower trance track. If the vocal wasn’t so poppy it would be gracing some big dancefloors. Number 6 is Discox Extended Mix by Fabio Neural. A slow building track, great for. along mix into it. The main sound tickles its way in and then it’s invading your ears like a worm. It drives on until the familiar breakdown which is punctured with excited woo’s before the track builds and builds until the beat kicks back again. This is a great long mixes track. Number 7 is I Love Me Extended Mix by Marshall Jefferson, Ten City, Wh0. Think 1960’s funk vocal meets a 1990’s diva, with a 2000’s beat and you have this track. It might be hard to imagine it working but it does. just enough vocal to be interesting not too much to become tedious. This is a House track at 125 BPM, in A Minor. Number 8 is Mr. Pretty Tony Original Mix by David Britton. I don’t know why this reminds me of the 1920s and 30s music for flappers to dance to and a gangster known as Pretty Tony talk-singing over the track. Number 9 is Love Is The Only Way Jonny Montana Sax Remix by Kenny Bobien, Jose Burgos. If funk, soul and disco had a baby tune, it would be this soulful track from Kenny and Jose. Number 10 is MY FLOW Original Mix by Shero, JNM The Naked MC. The first three bars of this I think it’s a remix of Pump up the jam, and then a hip-hop-style female vocal almost raps over it. It builds up to an early 90s dance track, before breaking down into an all-out hardware-created sound, just like in the 90s. This is a House track at 125 BPM, in C Minor.
